Hey readers! Finally, common tests are over. The hectic week of "exams" are temporarily over. (Yupp, it's only temporary.) This reminds me that the End-Of-Year Examination is coming soon too. Moreover, my Grade 8 Theory is in the middle of that period. Thus, this is going to be an extremely busy term for me. Sighh.. ):
First performance
Anyways, I got a little time to do some blogging. Hehe. This time, it is a CCA-based outing with both my seniors and juniors. It is at the Esplanade where we watched our instructor play with a Community Centre Chinese Orchestra. Let me frank with you, this is the first time watching an Chinese Orchestra performing on stage. (If you do not count those that the schools performed during SYF. Hahaha)
Don't laugh at this, because I had never been to the Esplanade before. Well, I walked past the Esplanade before. When I went into the place, I was so astonished by the design of the Esplanade. It's like "Wowww.. This is called a high-class place, so beautiful, so luxurious <3"
As the event hasn't started, we had to wait outside of the auditorium (?). The view outside is really breath-taking and beautiful. (double Bs yeah~)
Photos taken while waiting in the queue to go into the auditorium
Here we gooo~
As we had arrived quit early, we took the front row~
The stage is really grand and wide. It feels like I'm watching a very important performance, from looking at how the auditorium is being designed. With the warm colours of the place, it kind of brings me back to the 1980s (?) Sorry, I've no time sense here. (Since I wasn't even born before the 21th century!)
Busy taking every angle of the Esplanade because it is really cool and interesting. ^^
Just look how grand it looked. The spot lights, the windows, basically EVERYTHING!
Sorry if the individual photos confused you about what I am taking. Here are some panos of the Esplanade. (So that it's not that confusing to you, when you looked at the individual photos XD)
While waiting for the performance to start. SELFIES again yeah~ (:
Some photos are from my senior's photo, (so I may not be featured in some photos)
I brought my fisheye lenses, and Senior YuHong keeps on using it. Hehehehe ^^
Yupp, and my usual pose again. PEACEE V~
Like wow, most of the pictures are like the "v" sign. Hahahaha XD
No other poses we can use hmm..
Pictures of our bags. High-class right? *smirk face* Just kidding.
Guess which one's mine? :D
Our shoess~
Now do you know which bag and pair of shoes are mine? (:
The performers on stage!
Did you see my instructor, Mr Goh?
He's the one at the Erhu Section (Obviously, because I played the Erhuu~) and he's sitting at the extreme left. Spot him? Yeah.. That's him!! :D
In my personal opinion, the performance was great!! :D I really had a great Sunday spending time at the Esplanade listening to the Chinese Orchestra group performing various kind of songs. Mr Goh, you did a great job yeah!! ^O^
After the performance..
While waiting for Mr Goh to arrive and have a photo with us. ^^
Pictures outside the auditorium, still very nice nice! (Sorry for my lack of vocabulary, trying my best to improve on my English)
Selfies again..
Because my instructor haven't arrived yet. ~.~
Omg, my braces are seriously distracting me.. Hmm... As well as my messy hair.. Haiss.
Candid shot~ |
Mr Goh finally came. Yay. he still dressed until so formal XD
Oh ya, a photo with the Tan Po Yue Instructor too, because he had performed.
Featuring both my Erhu Seniors & Juniors, as well as, Stephanie and Alicia (who are in the Tan Po Yue Section!)
With the Erhu Section~~~~
Going back home with my juniors.
Before that.. Bought Koi.
And guess what? That was the first time trying Koi, no kidding. I'm serious..
Milk tea milk tea~ :b
Guess who I found under my dad's car.
Hmm.. You can see a reflection of me bending down. Hahahaha XD
Look who's under my dad's car. |
Other pictures that my seniors took.
At the restaurant as well as in the train.
Second performance
This time, it is at NAFA where we attended Mr Goh's recital performance at NAFA.
Well. it was in the middle of Mid-Year-Examination, so there's only a few of us who attended that. This means there's less photos.
As we have not been to NAFA before, we searched frantically for the place. Thankfully, we reached there on time before Mr Goh performed!! Lucky us~
There was lots of running, trying to search for the auditorium. Climbing up the stairs, taking the lifts, running about like a lunatic person. However, it was all worth it.
Mr Goh had played an array of Erhu instruments, such as GaoHu, ErHu, ZhongHu and many more that I'm unsure of.
I love all the songs that Mr Goh. It's really amazing how Mr Goh can memorised all the songs. How I wish I have great memory like him.. ):
After the performance, I went to try out Llao Llao for the second time. I still had trouble pronouncing the "Sanum". Thankfully, Beatrice was there to help me at the last minute.
Hmm.. But I kind of regretted buying Sanum because it's quite a large portion. Sanum is the only thing I know how to order. *cries* Maybe I should try out other kinds of the frozen yogurt. However, I don't want to be an idiot and stutter about what to buy T.T, it's embarrassing.
Got a brain freeze when trying to finish the frozen yogurt quickly. It's was already quite late and I've to get back home as early as possible. As I didn't want to waste food, I've got the only choice of gulping the frozen yogurt quickly.
It's still alright, I enjoyed my yogurt as usual. ^^
Yupp Llao Llao long queue.
Oh mann.. I forgotten what sauce is that T.T
The sauce tasted alright, but I don't know why but it dries my throat a bit.. ._.
Still delicious *thumbs up*
Going back home. But waiting for the bus was quite long ):
I was extremely exhausted and my eyes are pretty heavy too. XD
Oh ya, here's a group picture with my seniors and my erhu instructor.
Firstly, a candid photo before preparing ourselves for a photo.
Mr Goh was asking Senior Chin Tao (the one who is wearing home clothes, yes I'm serious) why he was even allowed to go into the auditorium with the outfit he's wearing. Somewhere along the line, I don't know the exact words that they said lah. Hahaha (:
1/3 of the Erhu Section here I guess? I'm not sure.
Some selfies we took as well. (I'm not in some photos hehehe)
To be honest, it was really a privilege to attend both of the performances that Mr Goh had performed. I got to know different types of Erhus they have through the second performance. In addition, attending the first performance made me realise that a Western song can be transposed into the Chinese Orchestra instruments playing it. It was really outstanding!! ^^
Thank you Mr Goh for allowing us to attend the two performances, I really enjoyed being there to listen the songs you've played. Thank you thank you!! :D
That's all for today readers, End-Of-Year Examination is around the corner too. Shall get back to revision or should I say homework (?)
Hahaha anyways, take care~
~Geraldine (:
